Book Thingo - Reading (mostly) romance books down under

So ... in case you haven't already noticed, I've moved most of my book posts to a new site: Book Thingo - Reading (mostly) romance books down under.

Consider this my (very) soft launch of the site. I'm still tweaking it--bloody hell, Wordpress design tweaks take a crapload of time!--but I'm also working on posting new content, so I figured now's as good a time as any.

Not another book blog! I hear you say. Well, yes, yes it is. But I'm also aiming to feature books by A/NZ authors (not exclusively, but more so than they're likely to be covered by other blogs out there), events (including the Australian Romance Readers Convention--have you signed up yet?), local bookstores and just generally talk about book-related stuff that means something to us. For example, US release dates, while good to know, are only marginally useful in terms of when our books will arrive. It's pretty much a crapshoot, particularly for not-so-famous authors (and in fact, even famous ones). Also, book signings and discounts don't usually apply to us, and yet we do have local events that I think other readers would find interesting.

At some point, I'd love to cover NZ events, too, but let's just see how much time this will suck out of my life. (Not that I'm complaining. When The Boy complains that I'm bludging a bit too much, I can now say, "But I'm reading. For the blog! It's important!" Heh.)

So this idea has been brewing since early this year, but it's taken a while to get up and running. At some point--very soon, I hope--we'll be launching it properly. If only I had more hours in a day...

And yes, I know comments weren't imported, but unless you guys really, really want the comments moved, I'd just as soon spend the time writing new stuff than cutting and pasting for two hours! :-)
